Casey Affleck is set to play two versions of the same character in new sci fi movie To Be Two.
The Gone Baby Gone star will team back up with Aint Them Bodies Saints director David Lowery for the film adaptation, and will also be an executive producer on the project, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film is an adaptation of short story To Be Two Or Not To Be from the Into The Silent Land: Travels In Neuropsychology collection by Paul Broks.
The story is set in a world where people are scanned, and a digital copy of themselves is sent to Mars, while the original is vaporised. When the teleportation machine malfunctions there are two copies of Casey's character left. The authorities want to destroy the original, but which one is the real self?
Lowery wrote and directed Saints, starring Casey, Rooney Mara and Ben Foster, which won critical acclaim at the Sundance film festival and has just opened in cinemas in the US.
