Vincent Cassel has revealed that he shed pounds for his new role as the Beast in the Beauty And The Beast remake.
The French actor - who portrays the monstrous creature in Christophe Gans' film alongside French model Lea Seydoux as Beauty - had to get to grips with his heavy costume.
"With the costume of the Beast, I lost ten kilos, because I'm supposed to be huge and hairy. But I enjoyed it," he told Collider.
"It was a new thing for me to learn how to move with such a costume and make it believable with the movements. I started as a dancer and was in circus school, so the idea of incorporating such a big thing and making it alive was a very interesting thing for me."
Vincent, who stars in Trance alongside James McAvoy and Rosario Dawson, revealed he has to finish off some effects for the French production in Los Angeles.
"We have completed the shooting, and now we have to complete the special effects, which is a big part of the movie. I'm going back to the studio in LA to do the face of the Beast, because it's a mix of my face and the actual Beast so there is more acting involved," he said.
Beauty And The Beast is scheduled for release later this year.
