Kim Cattrall remains defiant about Sex And The City - despite the second film getting a drubbing from critics.
The actress said the movie - which saw Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda embark on a lavish trip to Abu Dhabi - hadn't been made for film reviewers.
Kim, man-eater Samantha in the franchise, told The Guardian: "Look, it was never meant to be a critics' movie. It was just intended to be a bit of light-hearted fun."
Plans for a third film were given the boot after the dire reviews for the second instalment.
But Kim, 54, insisted: "I just think some people need to get a life. I thought it was fabulous."
Kim is preparing to play Cleopatra on stage in Shakespeare's Antony And Cleopatra at the Liverpool Playhouse.
The star said: "It is a relief to get out of the Hollywood goldfish bowl."
