Cavill: Affleck will be fantastic
Henry Cavill has said that Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman will be "fantastic".
The British actor, who will reprise his role as Superman in Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel sequel, has revealed he approves of his Oscar-winning co-star playing the caped crusader, which was a casting decision that was met with mixed reactions.
"I'm sure he'll be fantastic, above all else, and as a filmmaker he's got his own style, you know, he's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of been tenacious in his career," the 30-year-old told Total Film.
Henry said Ben's career highs and lows will add an extra level to his performance of Batman.
"He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character, and it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require a strength of character," Henry said.
"They require a dedication to the work and a belief in oneself and Ben has that, clearly."
Filmmaker Zack has said of the two superheros sharing screen time together: "The fun of the idea is to be able to play with that relationship. Whether they fight and become friends, or whether they're friends and they fight... Of course, some physical conflicts will be involved."
The Man Of Steel sequel is set to be released in July 2015.
