Cavill: Superman suit has powers

Henry Cavill has said there is something special about his Superman suit

Man Of Steel star Henry Cavill has revealed there is something about his Superman suit that makes him feel empowered just wearing it.

The British actor plays Clark Kent aka Superman in Zack Snyder's new big screen adaptation about the comic book hero, and told Empire how there is something about the costume that made him feel instantly different.

Henry said: "It's a different energy. Whether it's in my head or not, I feel different."

He added: "Oh my God, I don't even know what kind of material it is. It's a very compressed sort of elastic-y type material."

The 29-year-old Tudors star endured a strict training regime to get into shape as Superman. Four months before filming he spent three hours, six days a week at the gym and had a 1,500 calorie protein shake every day before breakfast to help him gain 20 pounds of muscle.

Henry revealed his trainer would shout at him: "You can't act your way to a six-pack!"

And he added: "During the day at work I was hungry all the time."
