Cavill too busy gaming to take role
Henry Cavill has said he was too busy playing World Of Warcraft to answer Zack Snyder's call offering him the role of Superman.
The Tudors actor told GQ magazine that he loves the computer game so much he was unable to break off and answer his phone.
Henry, 29, said: "I saw it was him calling, but the thing is, you can't save World Of Warcraft, you can't pause it. It's live."
Stardust actor Henry chose not to take the call and had to get in touch with director Zack after he had stopped playing.
Zack said of the story: "Haha, that's awesome! So, he was like, 'Who the f*** is this bothering me? I'm playing World Of Warcraft!' That's great. Oh, he's a nerd. That's why we get on so well."
The Man Of Steel director also explained that there hadn't been a costume designed in time for Henry's screen test for the role, so they put him in Christopher Reeve's old outfit.
He said: "It's literally made of spandex. It looks like a Halloween costume. It's really not impressive.
"He walked out in that outfit, on a film set that had all these big burly grips there, these tough guys, and no one laughed. That was the test really. Everyone was just like, 'That's awesome'."
Henry revealed he was almost cast in the part for 2006's Superman Returns, but was replaced by Brandon Routh in the widely criticised film.
He said: "Erm... let's just say that what's great is that I got on this film, because this is perfect for me. So read into that what you will."
