Channing Tatum taking acting break?

Channing Tatum wants to take time out from acting so he can direct

Channing Tatum has announced he is taking a break from acting so he can focus on directing.

The Magic Mike actor - who was recently named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2012 - said starring in films will have to take a back seat while he finds a project to direct with his production partner Reid Carolin.

Channing, who has his own production company, told Entertainment Weekly: "[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct.

"We're going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let's take a few and really get caring about that section of our career."

Channing has starred in several movies in the last 12 months, including The Vow and 21 Jump Street, and has more flicks out next year.

The 32-year-old revealed he has loved what he's done in terms of his acting so far, but he added: "I don't want to just keep putting [directing] off for these fun and incredible opportunities."

Channing has previously indicated that he wants to be involved in making movies, saying he wants to both direct and produce.

Earlier this year he told Details magazine: "I really don't want to be in any more movies that I don't produce. Unless it's with one of the 10 directors that I really want to work with, I don't have any interest in not being on the ground floor of creating it."

Gemini:

This is a good time to establish a routine. Create a schedule that strikes a nice balance between your personal and professional lives. You're the type of person who needs plenty of intellectual stimulation outside of work. If you've been spending too much time at the office, reduce your hours. This may mean less money, but you can't put a price on happiness. You might even decide to take a job with unconventional hours so you can play sports or spend more time outdoors.More
