Charlie Sheen lands movie role
Charlie Sheen has been cast alongside Jason Schwartzman in independent film A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III.
The actor - who was axed from hit sitcom Two And A Half Men earlier this year - will play a successful graphic designer whose fame, money and charm have made him, but whose life spirals out of control after his girlfriend breaks up with him, Variety reports.
Jason's cousin Roman Coppola, son of Francis Ford Coppola, will write and direct the film.
It will be Charlie's first full-time TV job since he was fired from Two And A Half Men in March.
The hit CBS show had made him the highest-paid actor on television earning around 1.8 million dollars an episode, but he was axed from the show after he gave a string of controversial interviews talking about past drug use and repeatedly insulting show runner Chuck Lorre.
Charlie is also working on a new TV sitcom based on the 2003 Adam Sandler movie Anger Management.
The 46-year-old Hollywood hellraiser has signed a deal with Lionsgate TV and producer Joe Roth to co-produce and star in the show.
