Christina Hendricks lost a $850,000 bracelet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night.

The Mad Men actress wore 200 carats of Chopard diamonds to the ceremony, which was held in Los Angeles. Among the jewellery was a 49-carat emerald and diamond platinum bracelet and another 124-carat diamond and platinum version, which was the one that was misplaced.

Christina was sporting both as she made it up the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton, but once inside the venue she realised the pricier item had slipped off. “Have you seen a diamond bracelet? I've lost one that looks like this,” she asked reporters from the New York Post.

The actress immediately ran back to the red carpet to look for the jewel, and was thrilled to find it had been handed in. Christina, wearing a bright red dress with frill detailing, returned to her table, but couldn’t get the jewellery back on as the clasp was too awkward.

She decided to hand it to her publicist to ensure there were no more mishaps, doing so after she’d convinced a security guard to let her back outside.

A representative from Chopard confirmed it was the expensive bauble which had been briefly lost. “Whoever put it on her wrist may have not closed the safety clasp correctly. But both bracelets and her earrings were returned in perfect condition today,” the spokesperson added.
