Cinderella release date announced

Sir Kenneth Branagh is directed the new film version of Cinderella

Disney's Cinderella has had its release set for March 2015.

The remake of the classic fairytale will be a live-action film and is slated for a springtime cinema opening, reported Deadline.

Cinderella will star Downton Abbey's Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Richard Madden and is being directed by Kenneth Branagh.

It is set to be filmed in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire and is currently in pre-production.

Disney has also added an untitled Marvel film to its release schedule for July 2016, joining two other untitled Marvel films set for May 2016 and May 2017. There are several Avengers spin-off films in the works.

Cate is currently filming World War II drama The Monuments Men in Sussex with George Clooney and Hugh Bonneville.

Game Of Thrones actor Richard can be seen later this year in World War I drama A Promise and romance Long Nights Short Mornings.
