CinemaCon awards for Drew and Adam

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are to be honoured with two of the top prizes at CinemaCon.

The Hollywood stars, who are about to work together on a third movie, will be feted at the convention in Las Vegas later this month.

Drew will be given the Female Star Of The Year Award, while Adam will be presented with the Male Star gong.

Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, said: "Is there anyone who isn't in love with Drew Barrymore, one of the most captivating and incredibly talented actresses of our time?

"Her career is simply remarkable and to think the first two directors to take her under their wing at the respective ages of five and seven were Ken Russell and Steven Spielberg, is astonishing. And now, over three decades later, she continues to showcase her versatility."

He said Adam had "brought some of the most entertaining and hilarious comedies of the past three decades to the big screen".

Drew and Adam are frequent collaborators, having teamed up for romantic comedies The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates. They are now set to co-star in Blended, playing former disastrous blind daters, who later find themselves and their children from past marriages holidaying together at a family resort.

Other stars who will be honoured at the event include director Ivan Reitman, who will be given the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Kevin Costner, who will receive the 2014 Cinema Icon Award.

CinemaCon will be held from March 24-27 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
