Claflin confirmed for Hunger Games

Sam Claflin has signed up to star in The Hunger Games sequel

Sam Claflin will be taking part in The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire.

The Snow White And The Huntsman star has been cast in the role of Finnick Odair, following weeks of speculation, confirmed Lionsgate.

The British actor, who is engaged to actress Laura Haddock, will join returning cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth for Francis Lawrence's highly anticipated big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' second book in The Hunger Games trilogy.

The character of Finnick is described as "charismatic and clever", and he was the victor of the Games for District Four when he was 14.

Sam, who starred in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has recently finished filming The Quiet Ones with Jared Harris and drama Mary & Martha opposite Oscar winner Hilary Swank.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which will be released in November, sees winner Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer) returning home and embarking on a Victor's Tour with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh), before the pair sense that a rebellion is simmering at the Capitol.

No matter how stringently your loved ones warn you, that won't stop you pursuing a romantic interest. You're utterly captivated by someone who exudes warmth, charisma and drama. The two of you get along very well, but beware of the financial toll this relationship will take. The object of your affection likes expensive things. If you're not able to provide them with the luxuries they crave, there will be problems. Then again, you have the potential for being a good provider, so all may be well.More
