Clooney set to direct drug drama?

George Clooney is reportedly planning to work on a drug smuggling drama

George Clooney looks set to direct a new movie about drug smuggling.

The Hollywood heavyweight and producing partner Grant Heslov are reportedly planning to produce a film adaptation of an article by journalist Joshuah Bearman, and according to The Wrap, the star could also be at the helm of the movie.

There are few details about the film - titled Coronado High - because the article it will be based on has yet to be published.

However, it's thought it involves a group of teenagers who are used to smuggle drugs in Coronado, which is in California.

George, who is currently working on World War II art heist film The Monuments Men, has teamed up with Joshuah before, on the film Argo.

The writer penned the article the Oscar-winning film was based on, while George and Grant produced along with director Ben Affleck.
