Cobie Smulders has revealed her husband Taran Killam introduced her to comic books.
The How I Met Your Mother star - who married the Saturday Night Live actor earlier this month after eight years of dating - plays feisty Shield agent Maria Hill in Joss Whedon's comic book blockbuster Avengers Assemble.
Cobie revealed: "I got into comics later in life. My fiance is a huge comics book fan. A huge self-proclaimed geek. He introduced me to comics like Why The Last Man? Fables and I got into that.
"Then obviously when I got this job I spent hours on line, researching and purchasing comic books to learn more about The Avengers but also to learn more about Shield which I knew nothing about."
The 30-year-old actress - whose daughter, Shaelyn Cado Killam, was born in May 2009 - revealed when she is not acting she likes to spend quality time with her family.
Cobie said: "I'm a mother which takes up a lot of time. I do a lot of photography and print my own stuff at the darkroom of a college near my house. And I hang out with my dude and try to chill."
