Cold Feet: First image and plot teasers as James Nesbitt and Co return for new series

The new series of revived hit comedy drama Cold Feet is set to return to TV screens in the upcoming weeks, as a new image and plot teasers have been released.

Co Antrim actor James Nesbitt will once again take up his role as Adam in the ITV series, with co-stars Fay Ripley, John Thomson, Hermione Norris, and Robert Bathurst all set to return.

The first image from the new season shows the five-piece happily posing in a Manchester Street - but what is in store for each of the characters?

Adam is now loved-up with his landlady Tina (Leanne Best) after the pair got together last year, but could wedding bells be on the horizon for the pair as Adam is keen to take the next step?

And how will commitment-phobe Tina feel about that?

Meanwhile, Pete (John Thomson) is doing well following his battle with depression in the last season and is now happily working as a chauffeur - but could there be more trouble ahead for the lovable character?

Pete's starting to feel underappreciated at home as wife Jenny (Fay Ripley) continues to climb the career ladder at work, and teenage daughter Chloe is demanding their attention.

It's never smooth sailing for the couple, but when an unexpected opportunity arises, Pete and Jenny have a big decision to make.

Elsewhere, Karen (Hermione Norris) has launched her publishing house, which comes with its own problems, but her twin daughters are also up to no good.

And as for David, he's looking to spice up his love life not to mention his dull career after the drama he experienced last year which saw him face criminal charges.

Cold Feet returned to ITV in 2016 after a 13-year break. It initially aired five series from 1997 to 2003, following the lives of three couples as they navigated life in their 30s.

The original series also starred Helen Baxendale as Adam's wife Rachel, who tragically died in a road crash in the fifth series of the show.

The return of Cold Feet was a huge ratings success for ITV last year, with over six million viewers tuning in for the first episode.

Cold Feet will be back on our screens this autumn.
