Colfer open to Land Of Stories film

Chris Colfer says he is always being asked to direct

Chris Colfer has said that he would consider doing a film version of his best-selling novel, The Land Of Stories.

The Glee star, who is writing the second book in the series, has already been approached by movie bosses, but said he only wants to give it the green light if fans want it.

"We'll see. I've had some phone calls and some meetings, but as of right now, I want it to be a book that kids read, and I want the movie to be wanted," he told Collider.

"I don't want it just to be made, in the hopes that it will be a successful movie. I'd want fans to really want to see the movie."

Chris, best known for playing gay teenager Kurt in Glee, will next be seen in Struck By Lightning, which he also wrote. But he insisted that he has no plans to sit in the director's chair yet.

"I don't know. Everyone that I meet always wants me to direct, but whenever I think of directing, I think of aligning shots," he said.

"I'd definitely have to write and direct something. I don't know if I could just direct something."
