Glee star Chris Colfer is headed for the big screen, with a starring role in Struck By Lightning.

The actor, who won a Golden Globe gong for his portrayal of gay teen Kurt Hummel, will make his film debut in the high school comedy he wrote himself, said Variety.

Chris is said to be preparing to shoot it during his summer break from Glee.

Brian Dannelly is on board to direct, and Chris' manager Glenn Rigberg will be executive producer.

Further details are being kept under wraps.

The 20-year-old previously starred in short film Russel Fish: The Sausage And Eggs Incident in 2009 and lent his voice to last year's live action flick Marmaduke.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Capricorn:

Your dry humour will be very popular. It's always difficult bringing a large group of people together. Everybody feels like they are walking on eggshells. After cracking a few jokes, you'll put the group at ease. Resist the temptation to make fun of relatives, especially the more sensitive members of the group. Nobody likes feeling singled out. Watching a light hearted comedy can also be a great way to generate a festive atmosphere. This is a time when people can put their differences aside.More
