Comedy role for Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender is branching out with a comedy role

Michael Fassbender is adding comedy to his repertoire by signing up for new movie Frank.

The actor, known for weightier roles in films such as Hunger and Shame, has signed up to play a rocker called Frank in the film, reports Variety.

He will share the screen with Harry Potter actor Domhnall Gleeson, who will portray a wannabe musician who gets in over his head when he joins Frank's band.

The movie will be directed by Lenny Abrahamson.

Michael is currently working on Ridley Scott's drug-themed drama The Counsellor, while Domhnall stars alongside Keira Knightley in new drama Anna Karenina.
