Cooper named Elle Style best actor

Bradley Cooper landed the best actor prize at the Elle Style Awards

Hollywood star Bradley Cooper landed the best actor prize at the Elle Style Awards - after missing out on a Bafta on Sunday evening.

The Silver Linings Playbook mainman collected the title at the Savoy Hotel in London as the magazine staged its annual prize bash.

Other well-known names honoured at the ceremony included Stella McCartney who took the best international designer prize.

Emeli Sande, whose album Our Version Of Events was last year's UK biggest seller on the back of her Olympic ceremony performances, was named best music act, but was unable to attend the event.

Kick-Ass and Hugo actress Chloe Moretz, who celebrated her 16th birthday on Sunday, was named the next future icon, while hit US series Game Of Thrones was named best TV show.

Bradley - whose movie roles have included The Hangover and Wedding Crashers - missed out on the best actor prize at the Bafta film awards to Daniel Day-Lewis for his lead role in Lincoln.

The event - officially called the Elle Style Awards 2013 in association with Next - were hosted by Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw.

Grimshaw defended the drop in ratings since he took over the breakfast show from Chris Moyles.

He said: "I thought they were good, my bosses were really happy.

"We lost like 40,000 and like 250,000 new young people tuned in and my remit was to get kids listening, and that's what's happened. So as long as my bosses are happy and I'm not going to get fired then that's all right."

Virgo:

It's difficult to deal with a highly competitive colleague. Every time you submit work, they try to find ways to outperform you. Although you have no interest in pitting your talent against theirs, this other person thinks very differently. Ignoring them won't be possible. A good way to disarm this pest is to invite them out for coffee. Describe what you've observed and ask for a truce. Irrational people are often thrown off balance when their behaviour is addressed in a direct manner.More
