Corrie actress has baby girl

Coronation Street actress Alison King gave birth to a baby girl today.

The 35-year-old actress, who plays troublemaker Carla Connor in the popular soap opera, is in a relationship with sound technician Adam Huckett, who works on set.

A Coronation Street spokeswoman said: "Coronation Street actress Alison King has given birth today to a baby girl. She weighed in at 6lbs 7oz.

"No name has been decided on yet but mum and baby are doing well.

"Everyone at Coronation Street sends Alison and her partner Adam Huckett their best wishes on the birth of their daughter."

Miss King previously appeared in Sky One's Dream Team before joining the long-running soap.
