Crime drama Shetland leads way in Scottish Bafta nominations
TV drama Shetland leads the way with four nominations after the finalists for this year's Scottish Baftas were unveiled.
The crime drama set in the Shetland Islands and based on novels by Ann Cleeves has been nominated for best television drama.
Douglas Henshall, who plays d etective inspector Jimmy Perez, is in the running for best actor television while director Jan Matthys (best director film/television) and Gaby Chiappe (best writer film/television) are also nominated.
Historical-fiction drama Outlander follows closely behind, being nominated in three categories for best actor, actress and television drama.
Brian Cox will go up against Peter Mullan and Jack Lowden in the best actor in film category for his role in 2016 comedy The Carer.
Mrs Brown's Boys: Christmas Special 2015, Scot Squad and Two Doors Down are in the running for best comedy/entertainment programme.
The winners of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Scotland awards will be announced during a ceremony at Glasgow's Radisson Blu hotel, hosted by Edith Bowman, on November 6.
The awards will honour the best Scottish talent in film, television and video games over the last year.
Bowman, from Anstruther, Fife, said: "Scotland continues to produce world-class talent and is showing no signs of slowing down.
