Criminal role for Tommy Lee Jones

Tommy Lee Jones is to star in upcoming thriller Criminal.

The 67-year-old will join Kevin Costner and Gary Oldman in the film, said the Hollywood Reporter.

The Men In Black star has been cast as a neuroscientist who transplants a dead CIA agent's memories, secrets and skills into a dangerous prison inmate so he can stop a plot. Kevin is tipped to play the criminal.

Ariel Vromen, who wrote and directed crime drama The Iceman, will direct Criminal, which has a script written by Douglas Cook and David Weisberg.

Tommy Lee last appeared in Luc Besson's action thriller The Family, alongside Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.

His next big-screen outing is in period drama The Homesman, which he also directed. It competed at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, but lost out to Kıs Uykusu's Winter Sleep.
