Darren Criss will be making his film debut alongside Kristen Wiig in Imogene.
Producer Celine Rattray confirmed the news that the Glee star will appear opposite Kristen and Annette Bening in the poignant drama, in which he has been cast as Kristen's screen lover.
"He would play a younger love interest. When Kristen goes back home from New Jersey she falls for someone," she told Vulture.
Bridesmaids star Kristen's character is a woman who fakes suicide in an attempt to reunite with an ex-boyfriend, but ends up having to live with her gambling addict mum (Annette) - whose fashion sense apparently channels hit TV show Jersey Shore.
"Kristen Wiig plays a girl from New Jersey, who... is embarrassed about her family in New Jersey, like it's Jersey Shore," Celine continued.
"She gets sent back to live with her mother in New Jersey, played by Annette Bening, who is a tacky Jersey Shore mother, with her outfits and make-up, and then it becomes about her family reconnecting.
"She's the mother who's a little inappropriate all the time, nothing is ever too much, and it's going to be fun," she added.
