Dakota Johnson helped Shades search

Dakota Johnson will star in the movie adaptation of best-seller Fifty Shades Of Grey

Dakota Johnson apparently helped pick her new co-star in Fifty Shades Of Grey.

The Fall star Jamie Dornan has signed up to play billionaire Christian Grey in the movie, after Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the saucy role.

Speaking before his name was officially announced, producer Michael De Luca told E! News that US actress Dakota had been a "rock".

Comparing the actress to her Fifty Shades alter-ego, he added: "She's just so Anastasia Steele. She's the best partner a producer could have.

"She's helping us look through the candidates to see which chemistry kind of captures our attention."

Fifty Shades writer EL James later confirmed former model Jamie's casting in the movie, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.

The author tweeted: "Stow your twitchy palms ladies.... our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1 x"
