Northern Ireland dancers Fancy Feet fail in Got to Dance bid
Monday, 8 February 2010
A dancing duo from Northern Ireland are nursing their disappointment after failing to make it through to the final of a television talent show.
Belfast teen Rachel McCartan (19) and 20-year-old Gerard Carroll from Dungannon, also known as Fancy Feet, were competing in Sky One’s live dance show Got to Dance, fronted by Davina McCall. They had previously wowed the judges with their flying footwork.
But last night they failed to win a place in next week’s final and were beaten by The Box — a group of 13 ballet dancers from Glasgow — and Akai, a ten year old hip-hop dancer.
