Danny Dyer to star in Assassin

Danny Dyer is set to star in action-love story Assassin.

The hardman actor is teaming back up with producer Jonathan Sothcott for the film about a contract killer who faces a dilemma when he realises his latest victim is the father of the woman he has fallen for.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Danny will begin shooting the film in London in August.

Sothcott is a longtime collaborator of Danny's, having previously produced his DVD Danny Dyer's Football Foul Ups.

Sothcott has also produced a host of British gangster movies, similar to those Danny is famous for, such as The Business and The Football Factory.

Their latest collaboration, Vendetta, directed by Stephen Reynolds, is due out at the end of this year.

Vendetta casts Danny as a special operative interrogator going after a gang who killed his parents, while at the same time avoiding being tracked down by his old unit and the cops.
