David Baddiel directs teen comedy

David Baddiel is to make his directorial debut

David Baddiel has revealed he is to make his debut as film director with a teen comedy starring Dr Who beauty Karen Gillan.

The comedian wrote the screenplay to hit comedy The Infidel starring fellow comic Omid Djalili as a Muslim man who discovers he is adopted and is actually Jewish - and he's now ready to get behind the camera.

David said: "I'm doing a new movie that I'm directing next year, which has got Karen Gillan in it, from Doctor Who, and Robert Sheehan from Misfits, and it's a kind of, big teen comedy."

The actor and writer has had some insight into the world of modern teens as he appeared in the third series of award-winning E4 drama Skins as the boss of Effy Stonem's father Jim Stonem, who had an affair with Effy's mother.

David was speaking at Absolute Radio's exclusive Elton John gig at Islington's Union Chapel.
