David Walliams wants Bond role?

David Walliams reckons Moneypenny should be a man in a future Bond film

David Walliams has apparently revealed that he'd like to play Miss Moneypenny in a James Bond film.

The Little Britain star knows 007 producer Barbara Broccoli and said he asked her if he could play a male version of the character, who has previously been played by actresses such as Lois Maxwell and Samantha Bond.

The Sun quoted David as saying: "I'm really good friends with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and I did ask if I could be Moneypenny. I said 'If M is a woman, why can't Moneypenny be a man and have a crush on Bond?'."

But it seems he might not get to realise his dream, as he added: "She just laughed and not in a good way!"

The star - who hosted a Bond-themed bash to celebrate his 41st birthday earlier this year - also revealed he is looking forward to the new 007 film Skyfall, which sees Daniel Craig returning as the suave spy and Javier Bardem in the role of the baddie, Raoul Silva.

"Bond films are only as good as the villain. Javier Bardem is the villain in Skyfall so I'm assuming it's going to be fantastic," he said.

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
