Day waits for Horrible Bosses call

Charlie Day is hoping to be cast in the Horrible Bosses sequel

Charlie Day has revealed that he's waiting for a phone call inviting him to join Horrible Bosses 2.

The 36-year-old actor is keen to reprise his role as dental assistant Dale Arbus in the upcoming sequel, alongside returning co-stars Jason Bateman and Jason Sudeikis.

"Well, I think I'm just waiting for a phone call. I know they have a script, and I'm being told they're gonna call me any day and say, 'Hey we want you to read this and we wanna offer it to you'," he told Collider.com.

Original writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have been hired to script the follow-up, while director Seth Gordon is also expected to return. It is not known if Jennifer Aniston (Charlie's screen boss), Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey would appear in the second film.

Charlie added: "I've talked with Bateman and I haven't talked to Sudeikis yet but ideally we can do it, because I love those guys. Seth Gordon was great and Jamie Foxx was great, so if we can all come back and do it that'd be fantastic."

The actor - who was at San Diego's Comic-Con to promote his appearance in Guillermo del Toro's sci-fi adventure Pacific Rim - can't wait for people to see his next big-screen role.

"It was awesome and I think it's gonna be a really great movie," he said.
