Del Toro to star in Jimmy Picard?

Benicio Del Toro looks set to star in Jimmy Picard

Benicio Del Toro is apparently in talks to star in real-life drama Jimmy Picard.

The Puerto Rican star could be playing a Native American Indian in Arnaud Desplechin's big-screen adaptation of Georges Deverux's book, Psychotherapy Of A Plains Indian, reported Deadline.

Benicio's character - a Plains Indian - travels to the Winter Hospital in Topeka, Kansas after he returns from World War II suffering a variety of symptoms that seemingly defy physical diagnosis.

Mathieu Amalric and Gina McKee also appear in the movie, which centres on the friendship between the Native American and a French psychoanalyst.

Production is scheduled to begin in coming weeks.

Benicio, who dropped out of the villain role in JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel, will next be seen in Oliver Stone's Savages alongside Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch and Blake Lively.

He has also directed a short episode in 7 Days In Havana, which stars The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson.
