The French actress starred alongside Ethan Hawke in the 1995 romantic drama and they reprised their roles in Before Sunset in 2004.

The 42-year-old, who recently revealed she wants to pursue writing and directing more than acting, has now told Entertainment Weekly that they are considering a third instalment in the series.

She said: "We're thinking about it, but the second one we only did because we had a good set-up, and ideas.

"I don't think we would do it [unless] we find the right thing to say. If the third one's not good, it's not good for the two before. We're careful. We're thinking about it, but it's not official."

Before Sunrise takes place over the course of one night and follows Jesse and Celine, who meet on a train to Vienna then spend the night walking around the city getting to know each other. Before Sunset picks up the story nine years after the events of the first film and follows the couple as they spend one afternoon together.
