Dame Judi Dench is apparently in talks to star in drama Italian Shoes.
The Oscar-winning actress could be reuniting with Sir Anthony Hopkins for Kenneth Branagh's upcoming big-screen adaptation of Henning Mankell's novel.
"The nuance, delicacy and flavour is so based on the perfect casting," the director told Variety.
Anthony - who previously worked with Judi in 84 Charing Cross Road in 1987 - is tipped to be cast as Fredrik Welin, a retired surgeon living on a remote island in Sweden, with Judi as his old flame.
Kenneth is no stranger to Henning's works, with his books about policeman Kurt Wallander being the basis for the successful TV series.
Filming on Italian Shoes, which has been written by Wallander writer Richard Cottan, is expected to begin in late 2012 or 2013.
