Depp commits to two more films

Johnny Depp will star in Transcendence and Black Mass

Johnny Depp is officially on board for two upcoming films - Transcendence and Black Mass.

The Hollywood heartthrob will star in the sci-fi thriller and the directorial debut of Wally Pfister as well as Barry Levinson's biopic about ex-mobster Whitey Bulger, reported Variety.

The 49-year-old is expected to film Transcendence first, in which he is thought to play a scientist who has his brain uploaded into a computer, which will be directed by the Oscar-winning cinematographer.

He will then head to Black Mass, which is based on Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill's book, Black Mass: The Irish Mob, The FBI And A Devil's Deal, where he will portray the real-life former Boston mob boss and FBI informant.

Johnny - who will next star as Tonto in Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger - is also set to reprise his famous role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean film.
