Depp in surprise visit to CinemaCon

Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at CinemaCon

Johnny Depp surprised fans at CinemaCon when he turned up to promote new film The Lone Ranger.

Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny walked on stage in front of an excited crowd to tell them all about the film, reported E!.

He arrived at the Las Vegas event with co-star Armie Hammer, director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Together, they presented 20 minutes of footage from the Western, which stars Johnny as a native American warrior who tells the story of a man of the law who became a legend of justice.

On stage at CinemaCon, Johnny, 49, said of his 6ft 5in co-star: "Armie is very tall. Which means we aren't short."

Johnny is the second star to turn up unexpectedly at the conference in Caesar's Palace.

Brad Pitt also made a surprise appearance to promote his film World War Z.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, which will star Johnny again, was recently announced for 2015.

Disney released the trailer for The Lone Ranger this week.
