DeVine takes on role in The Intern

Adam DeVine has signed up to star in new comedy The Intern.

The Pitch Perfect star will play the head of an intern programme in the upcoming Warner Bros film, according to Deadline.

It will star Robert DeNiro as a seventy-something who joins an intern programme and gets assigned to the founder of a successful fashion website, played by Anne Hathaway.

Reese Witherspoon was originally attached to play Anne's role, but the Les Miserables star signed on instead in February.

Adam has been working on the sequel to singing competition comedy Pitch Perfect and a horror film, Final Girls, as well as continuing his TV work with a new season of Adam DeVine's House Party due to start filming, and a fifth season of Workaholics next year.

The Intern is due to be released in cinemas on September 25, 2015.
