Diaz wins Other Woman rating battle

Cameron Diaz has helped win a film rating battle for her new film The Other Woman.

The actress appeared at a hearing of the Classification and Rating Appeals Board to state the case for why the movie should be released with a teen-friendly PG-13 rating in the US, and not an R, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cameron stars with Leslie Mann and Kate Upton in the comedy about a woman who finds out the man she is seeing is married, and teams up with his wife to seek revenge.

The actress appeared at the appeals hearing in Los Angeles alongside 20th Century Fox president of production Emma Watts.

The ratings board had given the Fox movie an R rating for some sexual references, but this decision was overturned.

Sources say no cuts were made to the movie in order to secure the PG-13 rating.
