DiCaprio: I'm just clowning around
Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed he doesn't take his day job too seriously - and reckons actors are just "clowns for hire".
The J Edgar star, who has been acting since childhood and made his big-screen breakthrough in the 1993 movie This Boy's Life, said he is under no illusions about the importance of his career.
He told The Sun: "I realise that I do not change the course of history. I am an actor, I do a movie, that's the end of it.
"You have to realise we are just clowns for hire."
Leonardo also admitted he had no idea the 1997 blockbuster Titanic would end up being so successful.
"I would love to say I predicted it would be one of the biggest hits in film history. I didn't - and wondered whether I should do it at all."
He added: "The fact that Kate Winslet said 'Yes' was the final decider. She was awesome. We were definitely shoulders for each other to lean on."
