Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in action thriller Satori.
The Inception star is tipped to play hitman Nicholai Hel, who is given the dangerous assignment of assassinating the Soviet commissioner to China but finds himself being pursued by international intelligence agencies after being betrayed, reported Deadline.
While the movie is still in early stages, it is thought that Warner Bros sees its potential for another "Jason Bourne-type action franchise".
Leonardo will also co-produce the big-screen adaptation of Don Winslow's novel through his Appian Way production company.
The Oscar-nominated actor, who will next be seen playing the title role in Clint Eastwood's J Edgar, has been shooting Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.
After that, he is set for a villainous turn in Quentin Tarantino's controversial spaghetti western Django Unchained.
