Directing film was fun for Rogen

Seth Rogen has revealed that making his directorial debut was a breeze.

The Green Hornet star went behind the cameras for the first time with long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg on apocalyptic comedy This Is The End.

"It hurt at first. But it felt good in the end. I didn't know you didn't have to shove a camera up your a**... But it was awesome. It was really great. It wasn't too stressful," he joked to Empire of the directing experience.

The film, inspired by a fake short trailer called Jay And Seth Vs The Apocalypse, stars many of the pair's friends including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Emma Watson and Rihanna.

"It's an incomprehensible mishmash of what is fictitious and what is heavily based on them. Some of them have characteristics that they in no way have in real life and some are purely exaggerations of themselves. Since they're all actors, they're all aware of how they're perceived," Evan explained.

Evan also revealed that Seth made the set a fun place to chill out with a pool table and games.

"People didn't leave, they hung out. They'd show up on days they weren't working," quipped Seth.

This Is The End opens in UK cinemas on June 28.
