Director leaves Portman movie?

Lynne Ramsay has apparently dropped out of Jane Got A Gun

Natalie Portman's new movie is apparently without a director following the reported departure of Lynne Ramsay.

The Scottish filmmaker was due to be at the helm of the Western drama Jane Got A Gun - which production has started on - but has reportedly dropped out of the project.

Producer Scott Steindorff, who is co-producing with the Oscar-winning Black Swan actress, told Deadline that they would find a new director to take over imminently.

"I have millions of dollars invested, we're ready to shoot, we have a great script, crew and cast," he said.

He went on: "Directors are flying in, and a replacement is imminent."

Lynne, who shot to fame with her previous film We Need To Talk About Kevin, has not given any comment about her decision.

In the Western drama, Natalie plays a woman who runs away from her outlaw husband (Jude Law) and is forced to team up with an ex-boyfriend - played by Joel Edgerton - to protect her family.
