Dormer: Hair small price for role

Natalie Dormer has said shaving her hair off was a small price to pay for landing a role in the latest film in The Hunger Games franchise.

The Game Of Thrones star makes her debut in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, but had to lose her hair in a dramatic makeover for the part.

At the film's premiere, she said: "It was an incredibly dramatic aesthetic change for me and I embraced it and ran with it and found it quite liberating in the end.

"When the razor started buzzing for the first time it was a bit of a moment, but I'd reconciled myself to it. The dealbreaker for taking this role was, 'Will you shave your hair?' And I was like, 'I will. To be a part of this family, this franchise, I definitely will'."

Natalie, who also appears in Mockingjay Part 2, added that she hadn't found the physical side of the role too tough as she was already in training.

She said: "I was busy, but luckily I was training for the London Marathon, so the cardiovascular intensity of that training was helping me keep up with Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin when we got to that stage."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is released in cinemas on November 21.
