Robert Downey Jr is the highest-paid Hollywood star

Robert Downey Jr has topped a list of Hollywood's highest-paid actors.

The Iron Man and Avengers star was number one on Forbes' list after earning an estimated 75 million dollars between June 2012 and June 2013.

He was followed by Channing Tatum, who is said to have raked in 60 million from a big year which saw him and director Steven Soderbergh self-financing the hit movie Magic Mike.

Australian actor Hugh Jackman, whose turn in Les Miserables helped him earn 55 million dollars over the same period, was third. Hugh's new film The Wolverine is about to open in the UK.

Other stars who made the list were Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Sandler and Denzel Washington, whose latest film, Flight, earned 162 million dollars on a budget of 31 million.

Tom Cruise, who held the title last year, also made the list after making an estimated 35 million dollars over the 12-month period.

Liam Neeson was 10th on the Forbes list, after making around 32 million.
