Downton actress for Capt America?

Jessica Brown Findlay is reportedly in the frame to play the love interest in the Captain America sequel

Jessica Brown Findlay is battling it out to play Captain America's love interest in the sequel to the hit superhero movie.

The Downton Abbey star, who plays Lady Sybil Crawley in the ITV period drama, is vying for the coveted role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier along with Imogen Poots, Teresa Palmer, Community actress Alison Brie and Game Of Thrones' Emilia Clarke, reported Deadline.

Details are scarce about the character and whether she would appear in future Marvel movies.

Chris Evans is set to reprise his role as the comic book superhero in the eagerly awaited follow-up.

Scarlett Johansson is rumoured to be making a cameo appearance as her Iron Man 2 and Avengers Assemble alter-ego Black Widow, according to Variety, although it is not known how she would fit into the plot.

Anthony Mackie, who has starred in The Hurt Locker and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is also on board as new character The Falcon.
