Josh Duhamel has revealed that he enjoys reinventing himself on the big screen, because people aren't expecting it.

The Transformers star sports a mohawk in his next film Scenic Route and admitted he didn't mind changing his hairstyle.

"I got a mohawk and it was awesome. I'd recommend it to anyone. With Scenic Route, it was like, 'Do you want me to have a mohawk?' F*** yeah, I'd love to," he said.

"That's an example of the most difficult thing I've had to do and the most demanding dramatically and that's what you hope to do - to keep growing and keep getting better and try and tell whatever story you're given."

Josh, who stars in Safe Haven alongside Julianne Hough, admitted it isn't easy to get jobs even with his dashing looks.

"It's a constant fight and it's a difficult thing because you have to take whatever opportunities you can get because it's a tough business to even get a job so at first if that's what they're hiring me for, great, then it's up to me to make the most of those opportunities and to be the best actor I can be and to commit and surprise people," he said.

In taut thriller Scenic Route, Josh stars opposite Dan Fogler.

"Scenic Route is a movie about these two guys who get stranded on the side of the road for four days without any real food or water. It goes from this dark buddy comedy to this survival movie and by the end you don't know if either of them made it out," he teased.

By showing your work to the right people, you can finally gain the fame and acclaim you deserve. Fortunately, an influential friend, neighbour or colleague can set up an interview or introduction. An important executive or critic will be impressed by your efforts. If you're offered an unpaid position as an intern or apprentice, take it.
