Robert Duvall has signed up to play Robert Downey Jr's dad in new film The Judge.
The comedy drama features the Iron Man star as a successful lawyer whose mother is murdered, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He discovers that his estranged father, the town's judge, who is played by Duvall, is the murder suspect.
Wedding Crashers filmmaker David Dobkin is directing the film.
Duvall next stars alongside Jeremy Irvine in A Night In Old Mexico.
Jack Nicholson is said to have been offered, but turned down, the role of the judge.
