Dyer movie farce has a dire weekend

A Danny Dyer film made just over £700 at its opening weekend

A farce about a man juggling two wives has run into trouble after it recorded dire takings over the weekend - pulling in a measly £747 at cinemas.

Run For Your Wife, which features Football Factory star Danny Dyer with Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding and Denise Van Outen, was only shown at five cinemas in the UK and Ireland over the weekend.

The statistics, based on research by analysts Rentrak and published by the British Film Institute, showed the Bruce Willis action film, A Good Day To Die Hard, pulled in £4.5 million over the same period.

Run For Your Wife is directed by Ray Cooney and adapted from his hit West End stage show of the same name, and features cameos from stars including Dame Judi Dench, Sir Cliff Richard, Lionel Blair, Barry Cryer, Rolf Harris and the late Richard Briers.

It also stars Neil Morrissey and Christopher Biggins.
