Eddie Murphy looks set to reprise his Beverly Hills Cop big screen role in a new television spin-off.
The actor starred as detective Axel Foley in three films between 1984 and 1994 and the character is being brought back in a TV show that will be a sequel to the movies, reports Collider.
Although the US show - which has been given the green light by CBS - will focus on Axel's son, the star will be reprising his original role in the pilot.
And it seems Eddie, who will also be an executive producer on the series, might pop up again if the pilot is picked up and becomes a full series.
So far it isn't known who will play Axel's son in the new programme.
Eddie, 51, has previously expressed an interest in bringing back his character, and apparently dabbled with the idea of making another Beverly Hills Cop movie before opting for the small screen.
But last month he was quoted as saying: "None of the movie scripts were right. It was always a rehash of the old thing - it was always wrong."
