Jesse Eisenberg has been signed up to play both male leads in The Double.
The award-winning star of The Social Network has been cast in a film adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novella which is being directed by The IT Crowd's Richard Ayoade, New York Magazine's Vulture blog reports.
The book is about a Russian government clerk whose life is turned upside down when a man who looks just like him, with the same name and from the same hometown gets a job in his office and he believes him to be a copy of himself.
British actor Richard won rave reviews for his directorial debut Submarine, a coming-of-age independent comedy he adapted from the novel of the same name which starred the relatively unknown young Welsh actor Craig Roberts, and Happy-Go-Lucky star Sally Hawkins as his mother.
