Chiwetel Ejiofor is the latest actor to be linked to the new Star Wars movie.
A Times journalist interviewing Star Wars director JJ Abrams wrote that he spotted the 12 Years A Slave actor sitting in the lobby of JJ's office, sparking speculation that the actor was there about a role in Episode VII.
However, the filmmaker apparently refused to comment, simply saying: " [Chiwetel is] a very talented gentleman."
Ejiofor has also been quizzed about the rumours. When asked by Flicks And The City what his reaction would be if JJ asked him to be in a film, he said: "Well, we'll see if it happens, you know I'm not gonna tell you."
So far little is known about the cast and plot details of the new film.
And director JJ revealed he thinks it's important to leave some mystery in the sci-fi franchise.
He said in The Times interview: "If you watch the first movie, you don't actually know exactly what the Empire is trying to do. They're going to rule by fear - but you don't know what their end game is. You don't know what Leia is princess of. You don't yet understand who Jabba the Hutt is, even though there is a reference to him. You don't know that Vader is Luke's father, Leia is his sister - but the possibility is all there.
"The beauty of that movie was that it was an unfamiliar world, and yet you wanted to see it expand and to see where it went."
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are expected to return in Episode VII, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Alex Pettyfer and Michael B Jordan also among those rumoured to have roles.
The film is due to be released in 2015.
