Elba 'fancies Inbetweeners role'

Idris Elba is an Inbetweeners fan, according to Anthony Head

Idris Elba wants to be in the next Inbetweeners film, Anthony Head has said.

Anthony, who plays Will McKenzie's philanderer dad in the hit 2011 film and TV series, said that The Wire and Luther star was a fan of the comedy.

He told Empire: "I was at a gig with Idris Elba recently and he says he'll do anything in it.

"He said he'd do a walk-on, so I've got to email them and say: 'Idris Elba wants to be in it'."

Anthony added: "Idris is so cool... it would absolutely work."

Asked whether Will's dad will appear in the second film, Anthony said he'd love to reprise his role alongside Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison, but added: "I haven't heard anything and I don't even know what the storyline is."
